Do not delay, get a central heating system this wintertime

We should all prepare for the wintertime months as the weather gets colder and the days shorter by having good gas central heating in our homes. You can guarantee yourself a comfortable and enjoyable home with a central heating system that is safe and reliable.

A gas central heating system is basically a central heating boiler with pipes carrying the heat to central heating radiators placed in all the rooms; these systems can be of the pumped or vented type.

The most commonly used central heating systems are the pumped systems, which consists of two outstanding parts, a feed and expansion tank; the tank is the core of the system, it first heats itself and then transfers the heat to the heaters through the pipes. The tank has enough space to allow for any water expansion that might result from the heating system.

In contrast, Sealed systems eliminate this primary water tank section. This system is essentially self-providing and therefore does not require any water tanks. The main assets of this system is that problems such as leaking and airlocks are minimised and, especially for those who live in colder climates, pipes will not freeze.

So you might ask what is really the point of getting gas central heating?.

The major advantage of gas central heating is that the home or work space can be quickly, uniformly and efficiently heated without compromising the quality of air in your environment. Electric fires, gas and storage heaters were the types used in the old days. But these produced uncomfortable humidity and a horrible smell.

These air quality issues were eliminated by gas central heating; but such a desirable environment can be ensured only by periodic servicing of the central heating system to keep it running efficiently and safely. Many families only use their central heating during the cold months and leave them entirely unused during the summer, this is a common error. Instead it is recommended that you gradually bring them into use during autumn so that if you spot any problem you can quickly contact an engineer.

It should also be noted that some gas central heating systems allow air or dirt into them, so yearly draining is required. To flush the system, open the valve carefully and drain the collected water into a bucket, while ensuring that no further water gets into the heating system.
